An Overview of the School

The Yadavindra Public School is a Punjab based co-educational day-cum boarding school which is affiliated with Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (C.I.S.C.E.) New Delhi, also affiliated with ISC. It was established on 9 April 1979 under the sponsorship of Maharaja Amarinder Singh of Patiala he was the son of Maharajdhiraj Yadavindra Singh of Patiala. In the February 2017 it has changed its logo and recently the school was awarded the British Council International School Award.

The Yadavindra Public School has the aim to provide overall development of its students, to provide best and world-class academic facilities to provide healthy, physical, emotional and intellectual attitude with full confidence. school not only provide attention on academic excellence but also provide equal effort to develop social obligations, culture, music, theatre, dance and yoga, appreciation of Indian art, along with computer literacy and understanding of the importance of physical fitness, as these combine to form the hard core of a well-balanced personality.

Houses System of Yadavindra Public School

Being a residential school the Yadavindra Public School also follow and implement house system in school although it provides classes from Nursery to 12th it divides its students from class  IV-XII in these four houses named “Aitchison, Nalagarh, Patiala, Ranjit, and Tagore”. Houses are run and managed by the House Master.  The school conducts various competitions throughout the year where all four houses participate in various activities including academics and non-academics. To create healthy competition and encourage students potential schools follow various strategies that not only help students to boost their confidence level but also help them to try out new things.

School organizes various tournaments and sports competitions in own campus.

While the Yadavindra Public School also offer various hobbies like Home management, Handicraft, Pottery Music (instrumental & Vocal), Paper recycling, Environment Science, Computer Animation, Classical and Folk Dance, Dress Designing, GK Club, Debating Club, Western Music and Language Club.

Boarding house

The school boarding houses are also divided into two houses first one is Ajit house for the students of Class IV to VIII and 2nd is Chandragupta house for the students of Class IX to XII. Both boarding houses are fully packed with all advanced facilities and well furnished also provided various indoor and outdoor games for boarding students along with common room, library, T.V. sets, and a music system. Both boarding houses are run under the supervision of resident House Masters, assisted by Assistant House Masters.
