The New South Wales Department of Education is responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of early childhood, primary school, secondary school, adult, migrant, and higher education in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
Before 1st July 2015, vocational education via Technical and Further Education (TAFE) colleges were administered by the department, with the Department of Industry, Skills and Regional Development assuming responsibility from this date.
The Department is governed and derives its powers from the Education Act, 1990 (NSW).
